Choir Director @ Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Champaign, IL

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Champaign, seeks applicants and nominations for the position of part-time Choir Director
beginning August 2017. The position reports to the Pastor and is responsible for providing musical leadership for worship and other special church events. 


A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in music or related area with demonstrated experience in conducting a choir and musical rehearsals is required. Familiarity with Christian liturgical worship, especially in the Lutheran church setting preferred. Director will direct the choir for all rehearsals and scheduled Sunday and holiday worship service from mid-September to mid-May.

Salary, paid over nine-months (mid-August through mid-May), is commensurate with experience and subject to Federal and state withholding taxes.

· Equip and coach adults to be faith forming in the lives of kids through such programs as Sunday school and mentoring.
· Organize, coordinate, and oversee programming to build cross generational relationships designed to build community within Advent.
